Questions families ask us

If yours is not here, call and ask.

How quickly can care start?

Usually within 48 hours of the first call, and the same day for urgent hospital discharges when a caregiver is available.

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. A registered nurse visits, talks with the family, checks the home for safety and writes a care plan. No charge and no obligation.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Visits are a minimum of four hours. There is no minimum number of days and no long-term contract.

What does it cost?

Rates depend on the level of care and schedule. You get a written rate sheet before care starts. Many families pay part or all through Medicaid MLTSS, long-term care insurance or VA benefits. See paying for care.

How do you screen caregivers?

Fingerprint criminal background check, Board of Nursing certification check, references, drug screen, TB test and an in-person interview.

Will we have the same caregiver every time?

That is how we schedule. We also introduce a trained backup early, so a sick day never means a stranger at the door.

What if we do not like the caregiver?

Tell us. We arrange a different caregiver at no charge.

Can caregivers give medications?

They remind, open containers and record that a dose was taken. They do not give injections or make clinical decisions.

Do you accept Medicaid?

We work with NJ FamilyCare managed-care plans for MLTSS and PCA services, and help with the application.

Are you licensed?

Arie Home Care is registered as a Health Care Service Firm with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. The registration number is in the footer of every page.
